In the stand of this striking accent table from Ghana, the figure of an African woman is hand-carved of cedar wood and accentuated with jewelry made from recycled glass beads. Raphat Asigbey designs this piece of furniture, completed with a round base and tabletop accentuated with geometric patterns.

This wonderfully original painting is from Alex Mensah in Ghana, who works in acrylics on canvas with a palette of muted jewel tones. Three women with pots on their heads represent musical notes. The artist himself is a guitarist, and frequently finds inspiration in music.

Robert Aidoo-Taylor of Ghana hand crafts this men's leather wristband bracelet. A wide band of brown leather is wrapped at the ends with matching nylon cord. Across the front is a band of braided cream-colored cord bordered by a brown cord on top and bottom.

About his artistic journey, the artisan says: "I am a self-taught artist. In 2012, I ventured into the realm of handcrafted jewelry. I have always used wood in my art and it's exciting to be able to add other materials to achieve something interesting."
