This intrigued me and stayed with me because the shoes represented access to an assumed freedom provided by the so-called Prince Charming," says Costa Rican artist Magda Cordoba. She works with watercolour and ink on paper to create a whole series around this theme capturing different kinds of shoes with a multicoloured palette, floral motifs and a collage technique where each shoe is individually cut and then placed on the paper. The Expressionist-style painting comes with a cardboard mat and a foamboard base.
