My great grandparents immigrated from Ireland to America because of the potato famine in the mid-nineteenth century. My father worked as a railroad engineer early in his career. He would have liked these iron bookends upcycled from railroad spikes. Bravo!
I have now collected multiple pieces from this most gifted artist that keep my books company. The figures are simple and graceful, and the glazes used are lovely. My thanks to Duangkamol for sharing her talent.
This is a beautiful carving of a thankful hand that now has a special place in our home. It is something that will be passed on to our children and to their children.
