Green sunflowers cast a spell of magical elegance in a design by India's Lalit Sakhuja. The frame is flanked by verdant ferns, while the top and bottom feature a trio of colorful rhombuses each. Sakhuja crafts the mirror frame of ceramic tiles and mango wood. Features a copper wire at the back for hanging.

By Peru's David Laura Zanabria, this dazzling tapestry takes its inspiration from the sunflowers that abound in his homeland. He works in virgin wool, adding neat raised borders in high relief around the petals. Fringe finishes the signature piece, and a display rod can be slipped through a hem at the top.

An Andean woman collects the sunflowers she's carefully looked after in order to sell them at the various village markets. Surrounded by green fields and tall trees, she lives in Peru's Ancash department and inspires this wall hanging by Leonor Quispe. She designs and sews the cotton arpillería appliqué composition, her artistry evident in the miniscule details of her work.

This beautiful set of 12 square ceramic tiles features a yellow sunflower motif framed by flourishes in cobalt. The cheerful tiles would make a magnificent backsplash or as decoration for a fireplace mantel. Isabelle Collins works in the style and technique of classic Talavera pottery, using color schemes that date back to the 1500s. "We use the same techniques and styles used in 16th-century Puebla. Classic Talavera used only six colors, all of which were natural glazes compounded at home with mineral pigments. We create our homemade paintbrushes using mule hair or horsehair from the mane or tail, according to the thickness desired for our motifs," the artisan explains.

Tay Nontawat hand-carves a captivating trellis of intertwining leaves and branches. They surround a fully blossomed sunflower that glows with precious delight. The artisan uses hand-held tools to procure the detail that embellishes this teak wood panel. To achieve an ancient finish, he uses special procedures that were handed-down to him by his grandfather. Accordingly, he wishes to keep these procedures secret within the family.
