Great Carving

We purchased three of these magnificently carved masks from the same artist. They are in a hallway as an introduction to our Guatemala room. I was a volunteer in Guatemala for two years, teaching English. I love the indigenous cultures there and these masks are a fine representation of indigenous art.

THIS PIECE OF WOOD HAS A HEFT AND WEIGHT TO IT, THE CARVING IS SPECTACULAR! IT IS A POWERFUL LION! I HAVE PUT HIM NEAR AN "ALBRIJE" GIRAFFE WHO IS TRYING TO EAT MY MOTHER'S HYDRANGEAS IN A DEER VASE. TRUST ME, ITS SUCH A GREAT SETTING. THIS IS MASCULINE ENOUGH TO GIVE TO A GUY. i AM VERY PLEASED WITH MY LEO. ;)
