We bought these in two versions- with the ties and with the ear-loop elastic. For ease of use we prefer the ear-loop elastic ones. But both versions do very well in washing machine and dryer, and hold their pleats very well over multiple washings (more tha. One year at this point). Soft cotton is comfortable against your face. I have no idea how it perfectly happened that this little handpainted dog looks EXACTLY like my dog, down to the colors and marking, around the same eye! So obviously I had to buy it. I love the metal fastener for your nose, it makes me feel safer that it's in place. The only thing is, there's a little bit of extra bunched up fabric in the nose area when I tighten the metal, but I don't even care. Love the 3 layers, I won't buy less!
