Während meines kürzlichem Urlaub auf Bali habe ich mich in die dort praktizierte Holzschnitzkunst verliebt. Masken haben mich besonders fasziniert. Leider blieb mir nicht genug Zeit, viel Kunstwerke dieser Art dort ausfindig zu machen und nach Hause zu bringen. Somit habe ich gesucht und gefunden. Dieses Meisterwerk sieht grandios aus und hilft dieses Veräumnis zu wett zu machen. Es steht keiner Schnitzerei, die in Ubud direkt verkauft werden im geringsten nach.

Not sure how I stumbled upon this mask in the first place but from the moment I saw it, something about it haunted me. It's beautiful. I could NOT stop thinking about it and finally caved, and I'm so glad I did. The colors, the beadwork, and the craftsmanship are all incredible. This is my favorite piece of art we own, by far. I can't wait to collect more of Awudu Saaed's work.

Charming elegance added to a new home.

I purchased the Seguso vase as a wedding gift on my neices's second marriage. What to do you give the couple who already has everything? I chose a lasting reminder of their beautiful wedding day and hopefully of their of their aunt and uncle who gave them this gift. Another fun fact: my neice's father (my brother) is Italian and her mother is Brazilian. She shares the same heritage as the Seguso family. What a wonderful reminder of her roots!
