I purchased this item for my teenaged son. He loved it, but loved it even more when it came with a hand-signed card from the artisan. Now when people compliment him on it, he recounts the artist's story.
My great grandparents immigrated from Ireland to America because of the potato famine in the mid-nineteenth century. My father worked as a railroad engineer early in his career. He would have liked these iron bookends upcycled from railroad spikes. Bravo!
