It's not easy to find a good quality depiction of a mallard hen -- most statuettes are of the drake -- perhaps because the markings on the hen are delicate and subtle. The artist has done a wonderful job here, and I'm very happy with it. It occupies an honored place in our home.
I sent this to my cousin in Colombia; he lives alone but works for the " desplazados" because of the violence and war. Before the pandemic he would travel to the Magdalena river and would take the most amazing pictures. I hope this inspires him and gives him validation for the what he does.
I bought this for myself because I needed more decor in my house and I find myself staring at it every day and well, thinking. It's beautiful- it feels like an art piece that would be part of a collection at a museum. I really love it.
