This is such a beautiful fan! As an older woman, I often find I appreciate a fan to cool off, but hate just using my opera or symphony program or some magazine I pick up off a friend's coffee table. I have several of Melati's fans in different styles and have given them to friends as gifts.

lovely small Christmas gifts

These ornaments make me happy, as though you can feel the peaceful spirit of the artisan. These are subtle and exquisite. I like the natural material and the delicate gold design. The gold cord is nice, but I swapped it for a very thin turquoise satin ribbon to add a touch of my own. I bought two sets of these to give as small gifts for friends in my writing group. I wrote a message on the back with acrylic paint pen -- just a few words plus the year -- in a blue that matches the ribbon I used.
