Not really like the photos

The photos for this item make it look gaudy, and the stones appear large and synthetic. In truth, this is a delicate, elegant piece with a refined, classy appearance. It is gorgeous! And it sparkles!!! The colorful stones--which are set solidly in individual wells of sterling--are just the right size for a multigem necklace: not too big and not too small. Yes, as someone wrote in their review, the piece makes one feel like a princess. Do make sure that the chain isn't twisted even a little bit when you latch it, or otherwise the gems will easily turn upside down!

I bought this necklace along with the matching earrings for my best friend for her birthday. Her favorite color is purple and since her birthday is in February, her birthstone is Amethyst. She loves jewelry! I was looking for something unique and different from anything she already owns. She has a lot of jewelry. She loves mining for gem stones and also loves going to gem shows.
