Delivery EstimateFor this delightful ceramic mug, Alejandra Aceves depicts the motifs of the Otomi tenango — textiles covered with hand-embroidery on animal and plant designs drawn freehand on the fabric. Even cave art in the sierra of Mexico's Hidalgo state can come to life on these tenangos. The skilled artisans use a closed herringbone stitch now known as the Otomi stitch that shows only the outline of the patterns on the reverse side.

The woman whose ticket won this was so happy to get this beautiful cup and very impressed when told about where it was purchased... she had not heard of this site.

This mug is a welcome addition to my blue and white ceramics collection. It is well-made, and the amimals on it are delightful. I appreciate that Alejandras design is on both sides of the mug, which suits both the right-handed and the left-handed (like me).

I gave this set of animal drawings on postcards to color to a second-grade girl for her birthday. She loves animals of all kinds and liked this set very much. I liked the low sale price.
