This magnificent sese wood throne stool by Nana Frimpong illustrates a West African saying. Meko anaa menko is a statement in the Akan language that means "the decision to go or not to go depends upon whether or not you are subordinate to anybody." Traditionally expressed in Adinkra symbols, popular wisdom is communicated to the people. Frimpong carefully sculpts the piece by hand, polishing it to a rich finish with dark tan mansion polish.

“Perfect size for a small space”

This is just the right size to fit neatly in so many places. I reflect on the meaning each day as I leave the door of my bedroom where it reminds me to look honestly at the past and remember its lessons in order to build a better future.

“Pride of my possessions; so different”
