Indah enam, or "beautiful six" in Indonesian, perfectly describes this beautiful link bracelet from Bali. Designed by artisan Wayan Sarjana, six faceted peridot gemstones dazzle from sterling silver bezel settings. Abstract leaf motifs are crafted from sterling silver and sit between the gemstones known as the "stone of the sun" and the birthstone of August.

I ve wanted this anklet for quite a while. So happy I bought it. It s the perfect size. Well-made. I leave it on all the time but be careful, it can twist and get caught up in itself. It took me a good half hour to get it back the way it s supposed to be. I would definitely buy it again.

Moving On Up
Sarjana has steadily grown his workshop. He is eager to continue growing and hopes to be able to employ additional silversmiths in the near future.
Preserving Traditions
Sarjana has a diverse jewelry collection that incorporates both traditional and contemporary motifs. He learned silversmithing from his uncle, and sought out Javanese silversmiths to teach him the specialized art of traditional Indonesian handmade chains - a speciality that has been handed down through the generations. Sarjana is dedicated to preserving Indonesian silverwork and hopes to some day teach his children this art.
Microcredit Financing
Wayan Sarjana has received 8 microcredit loans with 0% interest from Kiva and Novica, the first for $1350 and the most recent for $6000. Proceeds were used to invest in the purchase of sterling silver for production.
Profound Impact
Novica sales account for nearly 100 percent of Sarjana's workshop income. This income supports his family and the families of his five assistants.
Enabling Education
Sarjana educated his oldest child and now provides for the education of his youngest daughter.
Job Creator
Sarjana gives work to other silversmiths, two of whom specialize in the jawa technique.
Caring for Children
Sarjana's two children were born 15 years apart. He provides for both of them.
"Flowers and animals are my favorite subjects, but sometimes abstract geometrical shapes come into my mind, even though they are inspired strongly by nature originally."
