Bright shades of green and blue distinguish this original mask from Ghana's Awudu Saaed. The mask is carved by hand from native rubberwood, and local clay is applied to the face for texture. The artisan names his design Amega, which means "a person of dignity" in the Akan tongue.

“Incredible Artwork”

Not sure how I stumbled upon this mask in the first place but from the moment I saw it, something about it haunted me. Its beautiful. I could NOT stop thinking about it and finally caved, and Im so glad I did. The colors, the beadwork, and the craftsmanship are all incredible. This is my favorite piece of art we own, by far. I cant wait to collect more of Awudu Saaeds work.
