Details

In red and white, this bus is on its way to Santiago Atitlán. "For tourists visiting Guatemala, getting on a 'chicken bus' is quite an adventure, and for those of us who live here, it's part of our daily life. Hop on, find a place to sit and enjoy the ride!" says Jose Arriola of his inspiration. Working with ceramics, he sculpts a detailed replica of the legendary bus, mostly adapted from vintage school bus. "We call these 'chicken buses' because they're usually packed as full as a poultry coop," explains the Guatemalan artist.
