This whimsical take on the traditional nativity scene not only features Mary, Joseph, and an angel in traditional Andean dress, the onlookers are Andean villagers who have come in the stead of the Wise Man. These figures have been molded and hand-painted by artist Zoila Davila of Peru, who discovered in ceramics a way to express herself and take care of her children at the same time.
