Twining in lavish arabesques, ivy sends delicate tendrils and leaves in every direction. Golden lions lurk in the regal forest, embossed on burnished leather to grace an extraordinary trunk or hope chest. Oscar Pastor crafts the piece by hand of Andean tornillo wood, and covers the exterior surfaces with the colorful motifs. The chest features a wrought iron clasp.

Beautiful carving, well made. Is a companion piece to the hand tooled magazine rack. Both are on/near the den table.

This rack is shown off as a lovely piece of art - has a few magazines in it, but thats not its main function. Has a very viewable place in the den and is enjoyed by all.

I collect jewelry boxes and had several times more capacity than I do jewelry to store in them. However if I had to pare down my collection to one item, it would be this one. Even if I had to pare it down to only the boxes whose space I actually need, this one would be a viable contender against the option of keeping multiple boxes, especially if space was a concern. Each drawer is capacious and the shallow but ample storage in each compartment means that it would be very easy to find things. Its also very pretty, even as someone who doesnt usually go for green as a decor choice, apart from plants. The colors dont pop as much in natural light as they do in pictures, but the engravings are still really nice.
