Representing Uzoma, meaning "the good way" in the Igbo language, this mask is crafted by artisan Abdul Aziz Mohamadu through an intensive process requiring both patience and skill. The artisan hand carves the mask from local sese wood, then allows it to dry for two weeks before sanding and hand painting the elongated nose, closed eyes, mouth and dotted incision details. The Nigerian-style mask, intended for wall use, is then painted with striking yellow and blue highlights, and finished with clay for an aged, vintage look.

So pleased with this purchase. Packaging, delivery and service were exemplary, but most of all the talent of the artist is something I am proud to support. It will be treasured by my mixed race son as a reminder of his Igbo heritage. Thank you Novica.

Abdul is such a talented craftsman and artist, as well. I have had this beautiful box sitting on my coffee table for quite some time now. My apologies to Abdul for the overdue review. Thanks again, Abdul!

The mask lacks vibrance. The colors are dull. Very Primitive in nature. The red doesnt appear as vivid as the photo. The size is nice. I recognize that one cant duplicate a mask over and over exactly due to it being handmade.
