Glistening beads shape an akoma on the face of this elaborate mask from Victoria Agyepomaa. Meaning "heart" in the Akan language, the heart is surrounded by a beaded star, guarded by a bird on the forehead. The sese wood mask is carved by hand and adorned with embossed brass plates and recycled glass beads.
