Inspired by the mandalas commonly associated with eastern religions, the Ortiz Family in Peru creates this beautiful tray. They work in the time-honored art of reverse-painted glass, whereby motifs are painted on the underside of a glass pane. The glass is set in a wooden frame with a golden finish.

Eye-catching and lovely tray. The gold isnt as bold as the photo, which I actually like about it - its more muted and subtle. The colors are rich and saturated. It almost feels like a pity to use this as tray, since its a pity to cover up the beautiful design. Ill be purchasing more from this artisan.

This is a substantial piece that is a bit darker in person than it looks online. A great gift for someone who entertains frequently- very unique and lovely.

The pictures of this item make it look like a color intermediate between purple and pink, however in person, under natural light, I would describe it as being redder/pinker and I would probably describe the color scheme as just pink, maybe with hints of purple. The top panel also looks white in natural light. As purple is my favorite color Im a little bit disappointed in that, and yet despite that, it is really amazing work. Had I known what it would look like in natural light, its possible that Id have gone for Cajamarca Splendor by the same artists, which is a bold combination of secondary colors including purple. However, regardless, I am very happy that I have one of these cabinets, and this color scheme would have been one of my top two finalists for which one I wanted, regardless. I am very happy to have it; it is such a neat piece, and I am amazed that when you consider how much it would cost to ship this much glass from the Andes, they can offer it at this price.

I cannot say enough good things about this beautiful and functional work of art. I bought this with a Mothers Day gift certificate from my daughter. I needed a jewelry box. I had bought one at a flea market and brought it home. It had a very negative vibe, so I threw the flea market box and all my jewelry out in the trash because of the negative vibe. When I opened this beautiful work of art from Peru, I was astounded by the beauty. Even though I paid $100 for it, I realized it was worth much more. God bless the artisans that create such beauty. Im so grateful we can help support their work. And a positive vibe too!
