The artisan accents two slit pockets and a rounded neckline with black kantha stitch work, a traditional embroidery style common in India. A row of coconut shell buttons from neckline to hemline finishes the dress in style.

For the past five or six years, it has been difficult for Una to focus on her fashion workshop. She has been caring for her mother, who is now in the advanced stages of Alzheimers and no longer recognizes her. Una must constantly watch her mother to ensure that she does not harm herself or others. In addition to the limitations it places on Una with her work, it is extremely painful for her to watch her mother disappear in front of her.

Job Creator

Una has a small workshop in the garage next to her home. She is able to employ sewers, a pattern maker and artisans who hand-finish, embroider and embellish her garments.
