Hand Painted Circular Teak Wood Relief Panel from Thailand, "Splendid Garden"

Born in 1949 in the city of Chiang Mai, Thailand, artisan Amporn Srihata started off working her parents' ricefield in order to survive but later became an apprentice under a wood carver, which set her on a path to a better life. Over the past decades, Amporn Srihata has refined her carving processes and begun working with over 20 other woodcarvers in her community to bring traditional Thai designs to international customers. Here, Amporn Srihata presents this highly detailed floral relief panel, hand carved from reclaimed teak wood and painted with hues of an idyllic garden.
