For this striking pendant necklace, Balinese artisan Made Wardika draws inspiration from the Javanese story of Jaka Tarub. Jaka Tarub is a legendary figure who is said to have spotted seven angels in a wood, using his wiles to capture and eventually marry one of them. Adorning the wearer on an adjustable length of leather cord, the pendant of this necklace is hand-carved of bone, depicting Jaka Tarub's face as he emerges from the leaves.

Very well carved and pendant is nicely sized. I do put these on a silver chain. Very happy.

My son chose the necklace version of this as my birthday gift last year - to represent me and him. I loved it and later found the earrings. I love the earrings even more! They are also a big hit with a board where I am a member. One of their functions is running a sea turtle hospital, and everyone loves these. Ive acquired a few other pairs of sea turtle themed earrings, but these remain my favorite.
