With sharp red fangs and his characteristic round eyes, Tlaloc is the Aztec god of rain and lightning. Skilled ceramists from the Angel Ceron Artisan Association replicate an ancient polychrome vessel dating from 1440 to 1469 A.D. They work in ceramic, creating the colors from mineral oxides, and give the image an aged, antique finish.
The original vessel can be seen in the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City.

I was so sad to hear of Mr. Ceron s passing. I am also very sorry for this overdue review for his gorgeous artwork. I have bought several of his pieces, and I genuinely cherish all of them. I will continue to buy these most remarkable and highly valued pieces of art from his family of great artists and craftsmen.
