Llama Figurine Handcrafted from Alabaster in Peru, "Tender Little Llama"

Peruvian artisan Jhonny Jimenez has two passions: the traditional art of carving thousand-year-old alabaster stones found in his native province of Huamanga and llamas, the beloved Andean animals that symbolize loyalty and hard work. He combines the long-established technique and material with a contemporary design for a captivating alabaster figurine of an abstract llama.

"Stone sculpture is a wonderful way to express my emotions and feelings, our customs and traditions. I really connect with this material and am able to discover its inner beauty," the artisan says.
