His serious expression shows concern, for he worries about the cosmic catastrophes caused by an eclipse. Angel Ceron depicts a priest from the ancient city of Teotihuacan. It was the priest's responsibility to assist the sun's survival through sacrifices and ritual. The Mexican artisan works in yellow clay from Oaxaca, colored with mineral tints.
