Making a statement for ecological preservation, Ghanaian artisan Akwele Suma recycles paper to create this necklace. It features a pendant and two beads that are diligently crafted of paper, completed with a strand of petite sese wood beads that encircle the neck.

The artist uses the paper at hand so paper colors will vary, making each design a unique example of handcrafted art. These beads receive a protective coat of clear nail polish.
