Recycled Teak Sculpture of Punakawan Characters from Java, "Punakawan Characters"

In the traditional Indonesian shadowplay called Wayang, the characters of Semar and his three sons, Gareng, Petruk and Bagong, play the roles of the Punakawans, which are clowns similar to royal court jesters. Java's Hasan Agus Wiratomo depicts them in an extraordinary sculpture beautifully painted by hand and exquisitely hand-carved from recycled teakwood.
