Leading the forces of heaven, Saint Michael the archangel vanquishes the devil in this dramatic work by Alberto Torres. The angel raises a sword over Satan and places a foot on the fallen one in a sign of victory. Painted in the style of the Cuzco School, the lovely work recaptures colonial religious paintings in glowing oils. Torres carves the elaborate frame from cedar wood and covers it with bronze leaf. Titled "Arcangel San Miguel" in Spanish.
