This richly detailed plaque is crafted by artisan Musah Abdallah in Ghana. He carves the piece by hand from native sese wood, carefully detailing a lion baring its fangs, a man playing a drum, and the adinkra symbol gye nyame or "except God", which acknowledges the omnipotence and immortality of God. The artisan gives the plaque a rustic, aged finish with an application of local clay.

The artisan imagines a clever and beguiling design which he executes with skill and craft in a wonderful wood relief panel. Bravo!

I got it to keep a spare covid mask within a beautiful mask. It is a nice craft, lightweight but sturdy.
