Part of his Caffeine series, Jorge Alberto Merino uses ink and a coffee wash on canvas to create this whimsical composition. The artist illustrates a unique scene of an elephant, a frog and a snake together. "This work explores the beauty of the incomprehensible, of the advantages we can fine in our problems, of the beauty they may hold," he muses. "Not everything is bad and we need to know how to sieze the opportuities that life offers us even when everything seems bad. In this way, we can take advantage of the best of ourselves and come out of thesituation as a different person."
Titled "Danza de Los Problemas" in Spanish.

"What I most like about my work is coffee's versatility. I can use it as a watercolor in sepia and I can keep refining the image with ink to get more realism."
