Filled with pages of recycled paper, this eco-friendly book invites you to celebrate Guatemalan textiles. This book features over 200 pages of close-up photographs and that capture the beauty of handwoven textiles, combined with Spanish language descriptions and stories that explain the cultural importance of the different weaving styles and motifs. Promoting local weavers, the Pro-Teje Committee says "This book pays tribute to all the women weavers, presenting capsules of ancestral wisdom and pieces of Mayan cosmovision in each one of its photographs and descriptions, preserving the work and creativity of hundreds of women who, working with Pro-Teje, have transformed into weavers of dreams and visions."

A beautiful smaller tote, perfect for carrying papers and a tablet to meetings. The weave reminds me of older Guatemalan loom weaving and is well made. This is going to be a treasured keepsake!
You can find our book 'Hilos de Guatemala - El Lenguaje de los Símbolos - Tomo 1' by Pro-Teje Committee in decor accessories categories such as Cultural Books and Music. Enjoy exploring these sections for other Novica treasures.
"Maya women weavers have handed down their textile art from generation to generation for thousands of years."
