Sun-Themed Reverse Painted Glass Decorative Box from Peru, "Solar Love"

On the surface of this decorative box, the sun and the moon hold each other in a solar embrace. Peruvian artisan Felicita Espinoza designs the box. Working in the colonial style of reverse-painted glass, she hand-paints the design onto the box's blue surface, given a gold-tone trim. It opens with a hinge to a single-compartment interior for storing small items and keepsakes.
