Inspired by the Adinkra symbol Sankofa, which means "return and get it," this pair of sculptures is hand-carved of Ghanaian sese wood, depicting two birds that stretch their necks to reach over their backs. One bird has an egg in its mouth and the other has a closed beak. Abdul Aziz Mohamadu designs this pair of sculptures, elaborating each bird with multicolored paints and vibrant, recycled glass beads.
