Angel Sculpture
Guatemala’s Diego Canil grew up in a poor village as one of ten children. Yet, today his carved and painted wood angels receive worldwide acclaim. Like many of the artisans who contribute to this collection, each has his own individual way of depicting angels. From Juan Lucas Coronado’s unique Peruvian stone, huamanga, to Brazil’s Seguso Family’s glass masterpieces, each brings his own interpretation to their sculptures.
And like any of the pieces of the NOVICA collection, each angel sold returns its profit to the individual artisan and their community, preserving the craft and the craftsmen for future generations.
