Working with precious gemstones, Costa Rican artisan Miriam Bruten creates a breathtaking accessory with a serene aura. This pendant feature cultured pearls, turquoise and magnesite stones spaced by little sterling silver beads, making an eye-catching complement for any outfit.

Drawing inspiration from New York City, Efrain Espinoza handcrafts a bewitching accessory featuring agate, carnelian, hematite and jasper. With their intense colors, the bracelet finds an intriguing contrast in a single stainless steel globe.

"With this design, I want to represent the vibrant energy of the city that never sleeps. To represent the bold, energetic people who love life in the city — its changes and revolutions. Leaders by nature with that enchanting spark," the artisan confides.

Fascinated by the beautiful islands of Indonesia, Efrain Espinoza handcrafts a trendy bracelet from apatite, peridot and jasper. "These gemstones represent the green and blue tonalities of Bali's forests, ocean and infinite skies," he confides. "This design represents a free person, without ties, who always seeks balance in his energies and who enjoys his connection with nature." The Costa Rican artisan finishes the design with reconstituted turquoise stones and a small stainless steel bead.

"For me, Milan is the capital of luxury and European fashion. I represent this concept with the simple lines of marble, hematite and black agate in a uniform sequence of whites, greys and black," Efrain Espinoza muses. "This design is for the person who has been able to shine due to his own effort, and who knows how to enjoy his achievements." The Costa Rican artisan finishes the bracelet with a single stainless steel bead.

Nature shows its most elegant creation in a peacock's plumage, inspiring many souls around the world. Artisan Shawn Martin captures the bird's beauty in this glorious pair of dangle earrings, whose peacock shape made from sterling silver displays leafy details and an exquisite combination of peridot, amethyst and cultured pearls. 

Quetzalcoatl, the "feathered serpent" was a revered deity in Mesoamerican myth and legend. Mariana Llanes depicts him as a sterling silver dragon that take its own tail in his mouth. "When one becomes many, they awaken the dragon, and duality emerges — light and darkness, what is mine, yours and belonging to others," ths artist says. "Our differences, survival and the struggles for power.

"By biting its tail, the dragon places all its energy toward understanding who we are and why we're here. It speaks of overcoming one's own ego, of humility.

"For me, the open hands are a beautiful representation of human collaboration. They symbolize friendship, honesty, respect, solidarity and willingness.

"Black crosses flank the hands along with garnet droplets that represent the death and suffering caused by wars. This is in honor of everyone who has died because of war. And it's a prayer that their lives and their blood be seeds that germinate in green fields of conscience, learning, and respect for life and for our differences.

"The spirals speak of life's cyclical nature and of resilience. Of our capacity to learn and change our reality, converting painful experiences into strength and wisdom.

"The feather pendants are symbols of the birds that collect our prayers around the world — for peace, for justice, for equality and the rights of everyone. They carry our voices in their song and they carry our prayers for peace."

The pendant is worn on a beaded gemstone strand of amethyst, iolite, citrine, peridot, carnelian and garnet.
