Priding herself in each unique design, Carmen Ruiz presents this set, diligently weaving each piece by hand from cotton on the telar de chicote, or "whip loom," a traditional device made entirely of wood. Intricate Prussian blue tassels finish the twin-sized bedspread.

"The patterns on this bedspread are inspired by the festive spirit of the people of Oaxaca," says Carmen Ruiz. She weaves the cotton bedspread on a traditional pedal loom with bands of ruby red and beige over the cotton's natural hue. The bedspread is finished by hand with tassels.
