The stunning forest of Costa Rica is home to a charming bird called Quetzal, often worshiped by ancient civilizations that associated the species with freedom and divinity. Today, this cute friend is the inspiration for an acrylic painting by Hilda Zúñiga, who follows an impressionist style to create this stunning piece.

The work comes stretched and signed by the artist.

"The Infinity Series comes from an investigation that started in 2020. Seeing what the world was experiencing at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic made me reflect on health problems I've had my whole life as a result of a traffic accident. From uncertainty and pain then comes rebirth and a shift in the way of seeing life and understanding that it is just an instant and that only the present counts," says Costa Rican artist Magda Cordoba of her collection of abstract paintings crafted with natural mineral pigments and watercolor on paper. This painting in black, grey and gold is part of this series and features a cardboard mat and a foamboard base.

Working with watercolor and the natural mineral pigments traditionally used in pottery in her native Costa Rica, artist Magda Cordoba captures on paper an abstract composition inspired by Lee Ufan, the renowned Korean artist and philosopher that has been a big influence in her career. Ufan stands out in Asian abstract minimalism because his process and materials are more important to him than the final result, which is something Cordoba emulates and pays homage to. This modern painting is part of her "Infinity Series" and comes with a cardboard mat and a foamboard base.

Paying homage to the traditions and cultures of the Boruca civilization, artist Jairo Mora uses his exquisite talent to create this expressionist artwork, which portrays the magnificence of the ancient era. Colorful hues unite gracefully in this acrylic on canvas painting, depicting a classic Boruca mask worn on the traditional Costa Rican dance El Juego de los Diablitos or "The Little Devil Games."
