Green, the color of rebirth and hope, decorates a superb silk shawl designed by Rajnandinee and Srabonti from India. After working side by side with local artisans, the final result is a fascinating garment with a hand-block printed leafy pattern that adds a natural touch to the piece.

Kashmir, the jewel of the South Asian region, spreads its natural luxury in this wool and silk shawl crafted by India's Saqib Khan. The artisan draws inspiration from the region's history of magnificence to create the print that decorates this piece. With floral and classic details around the accessory, it boasts a glorious sage base hue.

At once bold and modern, as well as classic, the original design of this shawl is by Rajnandinee and Srabonti in India. The alabaster-hued tussar silk wrap is decorated with block printing techniques executed by hand that reveal black leafy shields among bands of magenta and rusty orange.

Hand block printing is a millenary art form believed to have spread throughout Asia during the 4th century AD. The desired composition is carved on wooden block with a chisel, hammer, file, nails etc. Printing involves laying out the fabric on flat tables and making the impressions with the previously carved blocks dipped in the desired dyes.
