"I was inspired by the beautiful nature that surrounds us, especially the extravagant unusual shape of seahorses," confides Felix Carballo about this ocarina vessel flute. The Nicaraguan artisan crafts the ceramic ocarina by hand detailing the seahorse with a bicycle spike and eyes with a fine paint brush. Carballo prepares the different colors by pulverizing stones and using a brush to splash the color, successfully achieving an aged effect. This ocarina features two tonal perforations on the front, two on the back, and the mouth piece is under the crown.

This is one of the few types of drums played throughout the different West African communities, which tend to restrict the use of musical instruments to their own group. Ibrahim carves the djembe's goblet shape from tweneboa wood and details it with an elephant walking in the savannah. It features a goatskin drumhead that is played with the hands.
