I've always been a fan of Lapis Lazuli and have many different pieces of jewelry, but this one stands above them all. I never knew how vividly blue the stone was supposed to be until I got this necklace. Whenever I wear it I get tremendous compliments and I love to tell people where I buy it in the hopes that they will begin to support the artists through NOVICA. And I didn't even have to remove my shoes! The exquisite artistry strung in wooden beads speaks volumes of a vibrant culture. One can vicariously imagine the pulse of,say, a market on the outskirts of Accra where I might haggle good-naturedly over the price of her creation with Elizabeth Alorchie-Apetor!
