The beautiful Buddhist goddess Kwan Im folds her arms and closes her eyes in prayer. By Wayan Rendah, this exquisite portrait is carved by hand from crocodile wood. The reverent image seems to radiate sensations of peace.

Wearing a fearsome garland of demon's heads, Kali walks on the corpse of a demon. Another form of the goddess Durga and Parvati, she is one of the most powerful deities in the Hindu pantheon, known for her aggressiveness. One of the many manifestations of Maha Devi, the great mother, Kali is part of the life and death cycle of the world. Although Kali is known for her destructive side, she is also a wife and mother; her magical characteristics include rebirth, cycles of life and death, joy, courage, hope, cleansing and change. She is the protector of the oppressed and warrior for the people, depicted in a finely detailed sculpture by Suresh and Devender Garg.

Standing around the tree of life, Adam and Even from the Bible are depicted in this vibrant and intricately detailed sculpture from Mexico. Magdalena Fierro creates the sculpture, which features myriad handcrafted ceramic elements, such as flowers, leaves, and even the infamous snake. Each detail is carefully painted by hand.

With an expression of utmost serenity, the Virgin Mary bows her head. A golden halo encircles this inspiring relief carving by the Montalvo Family. Sculpted of fragrant cedar wood, it is finished with oil paints and adorned with gold leaf.

Titled "Virgin Inclinada" in Spanish, the panel is framed in cedar wood; a metal hook at the back facilitates hanging.

Cradled in his mother's arms, the infant Jesus reaches a chubby hand to caress her face. The Virgin gazes lovingly at her son with a look of infinite tenderness. Golden haloes surround them in this relief carving by the Ramírez Montalvo Family. They select fragrant cedar wood, applying delicate color with oil paints and finishing the sculpture with bronze leaf.

Titled "Virgen de Caricias" in Spanish, the work has a metal hook at the back to facilitate hanging.

This wonderful nativity sculpture is from Dionisio Rojas in Peru. The artisan captures the traditional architectural style of churches in the Ayacucho region in the south-central Andes. Jesus, Mary and the Christ child are accompanied by angels, lambs, musicians and villagers in the detailed scene.

By Jose Arriola, this charming nativity scene depicts the Holy Family, angels and the Three Kings wearing the traditional Guatemalan weavings of Totonicapán. Crafted and painted by hand, they are accompanied by a donkey, a gentle cow and two fluffy sheep.
