These earrings are about 1/2 inch in diameter, just as described, and large enough to be seen but not too heavy. They are not translucent; they are opaque; they match the dark aventurine necklace very well.

Nice piece of work

The only problem is the length of the chain. It was to short for my daughters neck so I had to order a longer chain or buy another complete product and use the secon chain to enlarge the first chain. If buying this item be sure to make the fit.
