Pure merino wool and a cable knit adapted from traditional Aran Island patterns make a super soft, cozy sweater that you'll reach for all season. The pullover is crafted in Westport, County Mayo, Ireland, at the foot of the famous pilgrimage site Croagh Patrick.

In just a century since they first appeared, the textured wool sweaters of the Aran Islands have become “as tenacious an international symbol of Ireland as the harp and shamrock,” writes fashion historian Deirdre McQuillan. It wasn’t until the home crafts movement in the early 1900s that Aran’s distinctive patterns became known around the world. Today, from tourist shops to fashion shows, one can find sweaters based on stitches that were invented by grandmothers and great-grandmothers only a few generations ago.

Soft cotton threads are patiently hand-woven into a spacious hammock. Utilizing ancestral techniques, skilled artisans create this beautiful work and adorn its edges with long fringe, crocheted and knotted by hand. From Maya Artists of the Yucatan, its twin stretchers are carved from pinewood.

Long before the Spanish arrived upon the coasts of the Yucatan Peninsula, the Maya preferred to sleep and rest in hammocks. They considered the hammock to be like the loving embrace of a mother, due to the comfortable manner in which the body is held and swung within its cradle. Maya Artists of the Yucatan seek to preserve time-honored customs while also offering stylized versions of the original Maya hammock. For them, the hammock is a work of art. Their hammocks are incredibly comfortable, easy to maintain, and may be stored just about anywhere.

It easily packs for travel to the beach or lake. Extender ropes (measuring 1 meter), hammock hooks ("S" hooks), and step-by-step instructions included for easy installation.

Inspired by the traditional dress of women from the city of Tactic, Guatemalan duo Miriam and Debora design this cushion cover with a traditional aesthetic. Local artisans work on traditional telares de cintura, or backstrap looms, to hand-weave the cushion cover of cotton. It features intricate geometric motifs in eggshell and white, completed around the edges with hand-knotted tassels. At the back, the cover opens with a slit for inserting a cushion.
