Hailing from the land of alpacas, this shawl carries the spirit of Peru in its classic design. Husband and wife team, Raquel and Gregor, make their own interpretation of the classic large sheet of fabric, manually weaving this magenta, violet and tangerine-colored shawl from fine baby alpaca yarn, with nylon and cotton added to increase durability, resulting in an elegant and lightweight article to be worn loosely over the shoulders.

The twilight colors from the sky when the night is just beginning are the inspiration behind this baby alpaca and cotton blend scarf designed by Peruvian artisans Raquel and Gregor. The striped scarf is hand-woven on a pedal loom and can be worn by both men and women.

Designed by Raquel and Gregor of Peru, this baby alpaca and pima cotton blend hand woven shawl is both lightweight and cozy warm. The shawl features a strong color palette of fuchsia, gold-orange, and purple in three bold color-blocked stripes with a subtle arrow pattern. Fringe finishes both ends of the shawl. Baby alpaca refers to the fine fleece from the season's first shearing.

Alfredo Falcon of Peru designs this striped acrylic kimono-style ruana with bold colors and a mixture of geometric motifs. A touch of baby alpaca, the fine fleece from the season's first shearing, adds to the ruana's warmth and feel. Coconut shell buttons define a sleeve when buttoned. Lightweight, the ruana makes a wonderful layering piece.

Alfredo Falcon learned the craft of weaving from his parents, who learned from their parents before them. He says, “We have been a family devoted to the world of textiles for generations. I use modern colors but I remain true to Incan and colonial motifs.”
