I felt so at peace and happy when my nephew carried me to see the world outside for the first time - a world that is full of colors. I enjoy crafting something with both my hands that can be used by people. When I married my husband, whom I met at the foundation, I knew the meaning of happiness. We work together to create ornaments, my husband carves the pieces and I finish and paint them."

"Although we live in very limited conditions, my childhood was very happy", says artisan Sang Ayu. "I used to work carrying stones for a dam construction when I was in Junior High School so I can pay the school fee myself. Unfortunately the dam suddenly collapse and huge stones broke my leg. Now I have to use a prosthesis everywhere. I was so depressed, very not confident after the accident, I usually hide and shy whenever people visiting our home. But finally my spirit is back after I saw my parents were crying because my depressed condition. After pray to God, I feel more patient and strong. I even graduated from a university, and I start making handicrafts. After I joined the Foundation, I met my husband and now we have three boys." One stretch bracelet is crafted from blue and orange ceramic beads alternating with brown coconut shell beads, while the other is entirely of coconut wood.

Beautiful robe

This robe is not only gorgeous, but comfortable and easy care. I have washed this robe many times and each time it comes soft and ready to wear. I prefer the belt tie to lay flat, so a quick pass with a medium iron and I am good to go. I am fairly tall (5'7") and the length is perfect for me. The fabric is soft and the color is bright and beautiful.
