This beautiful, unique Indonesian mask made of rich hibiscus wood depicts an abstract face-shape with a carved representation of the mighty heron on the left side. The stunning wood grain and natural finish add a swath of depth and detail, making each mask a unique work of art. Each one is signed by Indonesian artisan Wayan Rendah, who designs and creates the masks.

Butterflies appear amid tropical foliage on the face of the moon itself. Carved and painted by hand, this delightful mask by Gusti Ngurah Semarajaya depicts the crescent moon. The Balinese artisan works in hibiscus wood to create the smiling moon face.

An elephant crowns this elongated face, reaching a questing trunk down the front. Seemingly a single being, this personage is named Osuno, meaning "elephant" in the Twi language. Rita Addo Zakour works in sese wood to create this handsome African mask, and rubs it with white clay for an aged antiqued finish.

Ghanaian designer Musah Abdallah works with a local artisan who skillfully crafts his brilliant design from local sese wood using hand tools. Intricate, eye-catching patterns feature heavily on the brass plate that adorns the front of the face, and two stunning wooden horns protrude forcefully from the top. A blue bird with aluminum eyes dances joyfully on top of the mask's head, showing off the lovely pattern on his back. The artisan paints the mask by hand, completing the intriguing design with a distressed look.
