While I chose to buy the garnet "dragon's ball" necklace for myself, I chose the topaz one for my best friend whose birthday is in December and his birthstone is topaz. The craftsmanship and detailing when I purchased mine convinced me this artisan knows exactly what dragons look like. Since both my friend, Timothy, and I equally love these creatures, it only followed that once I received mine, I would obtain one for him. I lived in New Delhi several years ago and had occasion to visit the Taj Mahal more than 8 times, taking visitors, etc. The building, of course, is magnificent and looks different depending on the time of day and amount of light. One of my favorite things about it were the gorgeous floral panels inside inlaid with semi-precious stones. It's very dim inside. The guides shine a flashlight on the inlaid stones. The carnelian glows like fire. Since that time, it's been a favorite of mine. These earrings are beautiful and substantial. My husband is going to give them to me for Christmas, so I had to watch while he put them away. I tried them on, and didn't want to give them back, they are so nice. They look amazing on. I know I will get many compliments on them.
