Nyoman Indrawati Subrata's gorgeous mask depicts traditional Balinese attire for the Legong Keraton dance, which is often performed after religious ceremonies in Bali. She starts by carving the mask from suar wood before painting the surface in a stunning array of shimmering colors. Her father, the late master sculptor Nyoman Subrata, is her inspiration.

By Desak Nyoman Parwati, three double-layer face masks reveal rich, deep colors. The contoured trio includes a mask in emerald green, one in cardinal red, and a third in sepia brown. All three are lined with the same beautiful batik-inspired prints, are washable and reusable, and have loops to fit over the ears.

Placement of the motifs can vary but the fabric will be the same.

Gunadi's beautiful mask depicts a dancer dressed for Manuk Rawa, a traditional Balinese dance for women and girls. Using batik, a wax-resist dyeing method, the Javanese artisan creates colorful patterns that shimmer across the wadang wood mask.

Decorated with vibrant and tonal colors, Gunadi's wall mask depicts Panji Semirang, an Indonesian prince of epic poetry. The Javanese artisan hand carves the mask from wadang wood, using batik, a wax-resist dyeing method, to create colorful patterns. The batik method can take up to 15 different steps to complete the design.

This stunning mask of two dancers is created by Nyoman Indrawati Subrata of the Subrata Family. They are costumed in traditional garb for the Janger dance, a popular social dance that originated in the 1920s in Bali. The dance is performed by a group of male dancers, or kecak, and a group of female dancers, or janger. The artisan carves the mask from native suar wood and paints it in colorful detail to carry on the extraordinary art work of her late father, Nyoman Subrata.
